The Seattle Economics Council (SEC) was founded in 1968 to provide a forum for business and economic issues and a network for local economists and those interested in business economics. The SEC is associated with the Pacific Northwest Regional Economic Conference (PNREC) and it is the Seattle-area chapter of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE).
The Seattle Economics Council has about 100 members from a variety of professions in business, government, academia, and nonprofit organizations. Monthly luncheon meetings feature guest speakers who are leaders in their fields and offer timely and insightful presentations in areas such as:
- Real estate and land use
- International trade
- Environmental issues
- Securities, investments, and finance
- Public policy issues
- Local business and industry

The luncheon meetings are held monthly from October through June at Ivar’s Acres of Clams at Pier 54 on Seattle’s downtown waterfront. Meetings are from 11:30 – 1:30. The social starts at 11:30. Lunch typically is served starting at 12:00 and the speaker begins at about 12:30.
