Dr. Takhtamanova earned her BA in economics from the College of Notre Dame in 1998. She earned her MA and Ph.D in economics from John Hopkins University in 2001 and 2004, respectively. Her fields of interest are macroeconomics, monetary and fiscal policy, international economics, and applied econometrics.
Yelena’s current research focuses on topics in macroeconomics, monetary economics and international economics. She has written papers on the effect of exchange rate changes on inflation (exchange rate pass-through) in OECD countries, inflation-output tradeoff (the Phillips curve) in G7 countries, and the link between changes in household wealth and consumption (the wealth effect) in select EU countries. This May she presented Gender differences in the effect of monetary policy on employment: The case of nine OECD countries.
